Placed third on the top 10 IFBB Ms Fitness Olympia 2009, Tracey Greenwood is a professional fitness competitor associated with the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB). Tracey is one of the more famous names in the fitness business having won 8 IFBB Pro titles and was the runner at the 2008 Ms. Fitness Lympia competition in 2008. She finished well in this particular competition in 2009 as well by taking 3rd place after winner Adela Garcia and first runner-up Tanji Johnson.
Tracey’s interest in fitness and bodybuilding started when she was in high school. Having been inspired by bodybuilders of the time like Cory Everson, Tonya Knight and Rachel McLish, Tracey knew that this was her calling. She would religiously buy copies of Muscle & Fitness and devour all the information about the spot and her favorite athletes. It wasn’t until college that she really started putting in the serious effort. As an amateur she won her first competition at the Europa Fitness Championships. Tracey Greenwood finally earned her pro card when she took the runner-up place at the 2001 NPC USA Championship. And today, she holds a high position on the Top 10 IFBB Ms Fitness Olympia 2009
Besides being an IFBB Pro, Tracey also works as a trainer with aspiring athletes who wish to take part in figure and fitness competitions. She judges for the NPC State level competitions and even sponsors her own NPC event called the Tracey Greenwood Fitness and Figure Classic. She has a B.S and M.S in Exercise Physiology from the University of Delaware and St. Joseph’s University respectively. Tracey then went on to get a PhD in Exercise Physiology from Temple University and teaches as professor at Eastern University.
She has been featured in many health and fitness related publications like Muscle & Fitness, Oxygen, Ironman, Flex and many others. In 2008, she was voted FLEX’s Athlete of the Year. In her spare time Tracey Greenwood also volunteers for the animal rescue foundation called Adopt a Boxer Rescue, while holding a proud position on the Top 10 IFBB Ms Fitness Olympia 2009.
